Laura (6-5 after a tie-breaker)
It just keeps getting better and better. Foa Foa has now taken the lead. Russel found the 3rd hidden immunity idol. John switches sides to save himself. Laura is sent home. And now that Russell is in control again, he’s wrecking havoc at camp (from what we see in the preview for next week).
Although this week’s episode was not as exciting as last weeks, it brought the whole story to a nice close. As Shambo said, Galu is no more. And John sealed the deal. With Laura gone, and numbers on their side, the Foa Foa 4 (plus Shambo!) is in control.
It’s always funny to see how Survivor producers portray people. Is Laura really such a villain? I mean if you watch the show, then yes, it looks that way, but isn’t she the proud, strict Christian? Sure, that doesn’t mean she’s a saint, but I can’t see her being evil either. I think she just got cocky and comfortable in her tribe and didn’t realize alienating Shambo (as well as most of Foa Foa), and doing so well in the challenges would hurt her so much.
Russell found a third idol! This time he had to use a clue to find it though. Clearly not as impressive (sarcasm). That scene with Dave chasing Russell was hilarious. Smart move on Russell’s part to lose him, though. I wonder if he’ll have to use the idol.
I’m liking John the more we see of him. He’s smart. Sure, Galu is down in numbers now and it’s possible that old-Galu will be picked off one by one, but as he said, he’s playing to win. He’s not going to let a rock decide his fate. If you can guarantee yourself a few more days, why wouldn’t you write down Laura’s name? Better her than you. I’d probably do the same thing. Then if he gets to the finals, he can say he wasn’t going to leave it up to chance and was forced to write her name down. He’s a good strategist, and I’m sure he could get his point across and win the million (if against a Foa Foa).
However, I don’t think he’ll make it that far. Unless one of the former Galu gets a winning streak with immunity, I see a full Foa Foa finale. Maybe one will sneak past. I can see John getting 4th place.
I have a few questions:
What is Russell’s best chance to win this game? Everyone hates him. If he makes it to the end, what will he tell the jury? “I outwitted you all. I deserrrrve the milllion!” Sure if they vote on who actually played the best game, Russell would win. But do jury members ever vote like that? No. They vote with vengeance.
What do you think of next weeks preview? Shambo in control? Who are they planning on voting out? It makes it look like it’s Russell. I don’t see that as strategic for any of them.
Brett needs to step it up. (Who’s Brett?) I really thought saying that would get old. But he hasn’t done anything to change my mind or even show us that he is playing survivor. If he makes it to the finals with Foa Foa, he’d probably win. But from what we see on camera, definitely undeserved.
